Building Inspection

Mission

The Building Department enforces The Massachusetts Building Code, Massachusetts Plumbing and Gas Code, Massachusetts Electrical Code as well as local zoning by-law regulations. All our inspectors work with the public, town officials and contractors to achieve the highest standard possible in code compliance and public safety. Please check with the Building Department before you start your project for requirements that may pertain to you. Also carefully select contractors and professionals to work for you by checking backgrounds and projects done in the past, contracts should be in format with the Massachusetts home improvement contractor law (MGL 142a). Also check for current license requirements.

REQUESTING INSPECTIONS:

Building: Please call the office to schedule, 508-376-7044.  Inspection windows are Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 12-2. Friday 10-12.

Electrical: Request electrical inspections through Permiteyes or email jsweet@millisma.gov.  Inspection windows are Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 2-4PM. 

Plumbing/Gas: Please call the office to schedule, 508-376-7044. Inspection windows are Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
